Because of her commitment to women’s reproductive rights and access to health care, Democrat Cathy Breen was endorsed by the political arm of Planned Parenthood.
Breen is running for the state Senate in District 25, which encompasses Gray, Falmouth, Yarmouth, Cumberland, Long Island, Chebeague Island and part of Westbrook.
Her Republican opponent in the Nov. 4 election is also a woman.
The Planned Parenthood Maine Action Fund Political Action Committee praised Breen for her lifetime support for Planned Parenthood, which provides approximately 10,000 women, men and teens every year in Maine with services such as birth control, cancer screenings and testing for sexually transmitted diseases.
This endorsement reaffirms my belief that Breen will work diligently in Augusta to protect a woman’s right to an abortion and access to health care for all.
These are challenging times for women’s health care. She deserves our support.
