I’m voting for state Sen. Cathy Breen, D-Falmouth, because she embodies the sincere and thoughtful leadership that we need in our Legislature. During her first term she has demonstrated sound leadership as our state works to meet the ongoing opioid crisis. Facing the strong headwinds our governor fans, she and other like-minded legislators have convened public discussions on what opioids are, who is affected and how our communities can respond. Cathy knows that those who struggle with addiction are worthy of our respect and compassion, and that our collective well-being is strengthened when we help those most in need. The solution to this problem, as with all problems, is to engage and work collaboratively toward a solution; Cathy is ideally suited for this important work.
