I will vote for Democrats Cathy Breen for state Senate and Dale Denno for House in the legislative races in Cumberland because Breen and Denno will advocate for a clean and healthy environment, as shown by their endorsements from Maine Conservation Voters.
Cumberland residents care about environmental quality. Our outgoing legislators represented this view well: Sen. Dick Woodbury and Rep. Steve Moriarty received 100 percent ratings on the Maine Conservation Voters scorecard that tracks votes on environmental issues.
To decide whether to endorse, Maine Conservation Voters sent every new legislative candidate a detailed questionnaire on environmental issues and did follow-up interviews where necessary. Breen and Denno earned MCV’s endorsement with answers that demonstrated their commitment to environmental quality. They will represent Cumberland’s values in the tradition of Woodbury and Moriarty. For the environment, I will vote for Breen and Denno.
