It’s not often that a candidate of Democrat Cathy Breen’s integrity and qualifications comes along; the toxic environment in Augusta and Washington has kept far too many good people on the political sidelines. I know: I covered the Maine Legislature many years ago for MPBN, the Bangor Daily News and Maine Times, and for a variety of reasons the quality of candidates has steadily declined. But happily not in Senate District 25: for years we sent Sen. Dick Woodbury to Augusta, where he demonstrated a genuine understanding of how government should work. Now we’ve got a chance to send another honest, hard-working and creative individual to represent us: Cathy Breen. Her credentials speak for themselves. I’m going to vote for her and I hope a majority of others in this district will as well.
