I was thrilled to watch the Falmouth Town Council vote unanimously in support of a Nov. 4 bond referendum to borrow up to $2.8 million for the renovation of Falmouth Memorial Library. I plan to vote wholeheartedly in favor of this bond. I am the mother of two adolescent children and currently there is no place for them to go and work in the library. In the new plan, there is a designated teen services area where they could meet with other friends to work on group projects. The library renovations will also add a much-improved public computing area in the form of a laptop bar, so my seventh-grader will be able to bring in the school-provided computer and take advantage of the free Wi-Fi to work on his on-line assignments, which are becoming increasingly required. This bond will help completely transform the library for all of us. Please join me in voting in favor of it.
