I write to thank all the voters in South Portland, Cape Elizabeth and Scarborough for your willingness to participate in the election last week. These elections are the very foundation of our representative democracy, and it is important to take the time to vote for those who will make decisions in Augusta for the next two years.
If you voted for me, I thank you, and promise that I will work hard as your state senator. I will try to keep you informed of the issues as they arise, and the reasons for my votes. And I encourage you to contact me with your comments and your concerns.
If you voted for my opponent, I promise you that I will work hard to earn your trust. I want to hear from you, too. Tell me about the issues that concern you. Tell me what you think we should be doing in Augusta.
And I want to thank you all for sending Reps. Eberle, Dill, Morrison and Kaenrath back for another term to serve with me. They are outstanding legislators, and together they are a great team with which to work.
