I encourage voters in Brunswick’s District 4 to elect Jason Bergquist to the Town Council.

In light of the closing of Brunswick Naval Air Station, many people in our community are especially concerned about our town’s economic development. As the owner of a small business on Maine Street, I believe we need councilors like Jason to meet the challenges we face. He brings business acumen along with a strong commitment to protecting our environment and promoting our downtown.

Jason combines long-term thinking with short-term solutions, offering a pragmatic, practical and positive vision for our community. Brunswick was the first town in Maine to offer curbside single-stream recycling, a program that Jason helped implement to protect our environment and save us money by extending the useful life of our landfill. Soon Brunswick will need to grapple with the pollution on the base. Jason will bring invaluable insight drawing on his past experience as in-house counsel working on a Superfund site redevelopment.

Voters in Brunswick’s District 4 can elect Jason to the Town Council this November. He is already serving our community well as a member of our Planning Board. Let’s give him the chance to provide even more valuable service as a councilor.
