On behalf of our board and our sister state, a big thank you to the greater Bath community. We have raised approximately $10,000 for aid to our sister state in Japan.

Thanks to the generosity of many individuals and businesses, we have and are continuing to collect funds to send for relief work in earthquake- and tsunami-devastated areas. For more than 100 years, citizens in our sister state have shown their compassion for us, starting with the rescue of the sailors of the Bath ship, Cheseborough, in 1889 and by generously hosting our annual exchange group. The motto of the exchange program is “Love and Courage Across the Seas,” and we have this opportunity to reciprocate the caring shown to us.

Thank you to the Bath YMCA for hosting a “Cheseborough Cup” and to the swimmers who collected pledges. Thank you to the Grace Church and many families who donated food for on our silent auction evening. Thanks to Polly Thibodeau for proceeds from the Antique Show. And thank you to the many businesses and individuals who donated items for our auction.
