BRUNSWICK — Larry T. Beatty, 79, died Jan. 2 at Amenity Manor in Topsham.
On Sept. 4, 1931, he was born in Devils Lake, Mich., a son of Joseph and Jean Tyler Beatty, and attended Detroit schools.
During the Korean War he served in the U.S. Air Force and later joined the VFW.
In 1953 he married Maureen Locke in Holyoke, Mass.
For most of his life, he was a truck driver, owning and operating his own business as well as driving for other companies over the years.
His interests included race car driving at Michigan racetracks, fixing things, and was a talented artist who enjoyed painting.
Surviving are his wife Maureen of Brunswick; and a son, Rick Beatty, of Melbourne, Fla.
There will be no services.
