Scarborough boys’ lacrosse coach Joe Hezlep reached the 100-victory plateau Wednesday, April 27 when his Red Storm won at Westbrook, 16-9. Hezlep, who has coached Scarborough to five state titles in his nine seasons, won 14 games in 2008, 11 in both 2009 and 2010, 14 apiece in 2011, 2012 and 2013, 10 in 2014 and nine a year ago. Scarborough’s third win this spring allowed him to join Brunswick’s Don Glover and Cape Elizabeth’s Ben Raymond as the only active members of the 100-win club.

“(Scarborough’s) a great place to be,” Hezlep said. “I like being here. I can see myself being here a long time. Getting to 100 wins was more a longevity thing than my coaching talent.”
