BRUNSWICK — The Brunswick-Topsham Land Trust is seeking new supporters to carry it through the final stage of a $7 million conservation effort.

Since 2011, the trust has secured more than $6 million in donations and grants, according to Executive Director Angela Twitchell, and is now focusing on expanding its membership and building a stewardship fund to care for conserved properties.

The trust aims to protect 23 priority preservation properties totaling an estimated 1,100 acres, establish an $800,000 stewardship fund, raise membership from 900 to 1,500, and double annual membership income to $205,000.

It has been able to conserve 680 acres across 11 properties, and expects to close on an additional 12 projects totaling 480 acres in the next two years.
