FREEPORT — L.L. Bean announced last week a new partnership that will help support “America’s more than 400 national parks” and “connect people from all backgrounds and abilities with them.”

According to a news release, L.L. Bean’s multi-year, $3 million partnership with the National Park Foundation supports the Find Your Park/Encuentra Tu Parque movement. The initiative inspired people from all over the world to discover and share their unique connections to America’s national parks.

Shawn Gorman, L.L.Bean’s executive chairman and great-grandson of L.L.Bean, said in the release that the goal of the partnership is to help make it as easy as possible for people to find memorable adventures.

“The outdoors is part of our company’s history, heritage and DNA,” Gorman said. “Like the National Park Foundation, ours is a legacy rooted in the outdoors that began more than a century ago and will continue long into the future.”
