FALMOUTH — A Common Yarn, an adult textile group at the Falmouth Memorial Library, is soliciting knitters and yarn donations for the third annual “Knit a Hat, Warm a Heart” hat drive for the Falmouth Food Pantry.

Yarn donations are put into kits with a simple hat pattern. Knitters in the community can “take a kit, knit a hat, and bring it back,” according to a press release.

All completed hats will be donated to the food pantry in December; as of Nov. 15, the campaign had collected 75 completed hats.

A separate drive is being conducted for mittens. Starting in January, a Common Yarn will ask the community to help by donating yarn or knitting mittens for the campaign.

Yarn may be dropped off in a donation bin at the library entrance. Worsted and bulky yarns are preferred, but all weights are welcome. For more information, call 781-2351.
