FREEPORT — Keith William Gardiner, of Freeport, died Feb. 22.

He was born in Bangor on Nov. 12, 1961, the son of Carolyn (Goodeill) and Kenneth Gardiner. He graduated from Milford High School in Milford, N.H., and attended the University of Maine Orono, where he studied business and was a member of Theta Chi.

Gardiner worked for Sheraton and in 1986 become a co-owner of the Casco Bay Inn in Freeport. The Inn has been expanded twice and run as a family owned and operated property ever since. He also found a very special place that became known as Little Yellow Camp, where all were welcome and the living was easy. Party boat rides and simply enjoying Cold Stream Pond with family were made all the better with Gardiner’s ever present good sense of humor.

Gardiner enjoyed camping, playing golf, photography, winters in Naples, Fla., and canoeing the Allagash with his father and Uncle Dale. He will be remembered for his great empathy and love of his entire family and greatly missed.

Gardiner is survived by his parents of Freeport; his sister, Sheri Parker and her husband, Don, and their daughters, Lauren and Reiley, all of Freeport; and a large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service was held March, 1.

In keeping with Gardiner’s generosity please consider making a donation in his name to a charity of your choice.
