PORTLAND — Keith Edward Casey, 83, of Cumberland Foreside, died Sept. 17 at Maine Medical Center.

A native of Calais, he attended local schools and the Calais Academy

From 1943 to 1946 he served in the U.S. Marine Corps on the Marinas Islands of Timian, Guam and Rota Islands.

He attended Connecticut State College for two years and later earned a certificate in transportation and interstate commerce rules and regulations from the University of Hartford.

Subsequently, he operated Casey and Sons Interstate Relocation Services.

In 1970, his love of Maine compelled him to move his business to Portland and the family to Cumberland Foreside.

His hobbies included playing the trumpet, listening to jazz music, fishing, baseball and golf.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Frances Casey of Cumberland Foreside; two sons, Michael Casey and his wife Martha of Gray and Keith Edward Casey Jr., and his wife Jayne of California; and extended family Down East and around the St. Stephens, New Brunswick area.

A memorial service was held Sept. 23 at Lindquist Funeral Home, 1 Mayberry Lane, Yarmouth.
