BRUNSWICK — Katrina N. Chisholm, 91, formerly of Brunswick, died Oct. 27 at the Freeport Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born in Brunswick on Feb. 10, 1920, the daughter of Paul and Mathilde Spengler Nixon.

A graduate of Brunswick High School, she later studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London and the American Academy of Dramatic Art in New York in 1940. After graduation, she became a professional monologist, writing her own one woman shows and did TV sketches for local programming in Massachusetts. She also started her own lamp shade business and did shades for the Lincoln, Mass. Audubon Society.

On Dec. 29, 1941, she married George F. Chisholm in Wellesly, Mass. They lived in Dudley, Mass. for many years where her husband was a professor of Fine Arts at Nichols College. He died in Oct. of 1991.

Chisholm is survived by her son Leland Chisholm and his wife Susan Rice of Freeport; and three grandchildren, Adam, Ian, and John Chisholm, all of San Francisco, Calif.

A memorial service was held on Nov. 13 at the Parkview Hospital Chapel. Burial will be at Pine Grove Cemetery in Brunswick at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to the Curtis Memorial Library, 23 Pleasant St., Brunswick, ME. Arrangements are in the care of the Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal St., Brunswick.
