PORTLAND — Katherine Priscilla (Serunian) Westberry, 73, formerly of South Portland, died Aug. 4 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.

Born in Portland on July 4, 1937,  a daughter of Ovagin John and Rose Nancy Aloian Serunian, she attended local schools and was a 1957 graduate of South Portland High School.

She lived in South Portland most of her life, where she also owned and operated Serunian Manor, a boarding home for elderly patients  on Highland Avenue, for many years.

Her greatest joys in life were her five children and eight grandchildren.

She was predeceased by four sisters, Alice Ferrara, Louise Welch, Eleanor Ames, Florence Holmes and two brothers, Peter D. Serunian and Frederick J. Serunian.

Survivors include her sister, Frances R. Parker of South Portland;  five children and eight grandchildren; Richard Thomes and his wife Pam and their daughter Jessica of South Portland, Michael Thomes of Hollis, Kelly Thomes and her partner Kevin Smith and their daughter Katie and son KJ of Saco, John Thomes and his wife Patti and their daughters, Ashley, Alexis, and Melissa of South Portland, and Steven Thomes and his partner Karla Lockwood and their children Alanah and Natasha of Cape Elizabeth; many nieces and nephews; and grandnieces and grandnephews.

The family would like to thank the loving staff at Seaside for the care they provided over the past two years and the staff at Mercy Hospital and the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House during her last days.

Memorial services were held last week.

Arrangements are by Hobbs Funeral Home, Cottage Road, South Portland.
