PORTLAND — Katherine “Kay” A. (Glynn) McLaughlin, 81, died Aug. 5 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.

She was born Sept. 3, 1930 in Portland, the daughter of William Glynn and Mary Agnes (O’Toole) Glynn. She was educated in Portland schools and was a proud resident all her life of Gorham’s Corner, where she was known to all the neighborhood as Nana Kay.

In her later years, she volunteered at the Preble Street Resource Center.
    
She was predeceased by her husband, Hollis McLaughlin, and son, Eugene Glynn.

She is survived by her children, William McLaughlin, Mary Ann Benner, Kimberly LeDoux-Deschaine and Kathy McLaughlin; and stepchildren Mary Jean Pyle and Hollis McLaughlin; adopted daughter Debbie Griffin; and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
   
Visiting hours will be held from 5-8 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 8 at Conroy-Tully Crawford Funeral Home, 172 State St., Portland. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Aug. 9. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, South Portland.
    
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in McLaughlin’s memory to a memorial fund for her daughter, Kathy McLaughlin and her son, William McLaughlin: c/o Mary Benner, 111 Austin St., Westbrook, ME 04092.
