FALMOUTH — June Libby Stimson, 91, of Falmouth, died Oct. 27 after a prolonged period of failing health.

She was born in Windham in 1923, the daughter of Edna Libby. Stimson grew up on Land of Nod Road and graduated from Windham High School.

For many years, she and her husband, Joseph W. Stimson Jr., ran a dairy farm on Hurricane Road in West Falmouth. She was a traditional farming wife, familiar with the hard work that life entails. She also was an outdoorswoman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and four-wheeling with her family, at Moxie Pond in Samoset County.

June was predeceased by Joseph 22 years ago. She was also predeceased by three sisters, Abbie, Inez and Alice.

She is survived by five children, Robert Stimson, of West Paris, Ken Stimson and wife, Mary, of Falmouth, Mary McDonough and husband, Mike, of Cumberland, Richard Stimson and wife, Lori, of Falmouth, and Joyce Cornish and husband, Michael, of New Gloucester. She also leaves behind a sister, Mary Hall, of Windham, 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

At Stimson’s request there will be no services. Burial will be at a future date in Blanchard Cemetery, Cumberland. Arrangements are under the direction of Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, in Portland.
