TOPSHAM — Judith A. (Sym) Koenig, 70, died from cancer March 3 at Bodwell house in Brunswick.

She was born Oct. 6, 1939, in Queens, N.Y., a daughter of John and Dorothy Sym.

After graduating from Newtown High School in 1957 she worked for Brown Bros. Harrington Bank on Wall Street in New York City.

On June 28, 1959, she married Robert W. Koenig in Jamaica, N.Y.

Later on she worked for many years at the library in Hicksville, Long Island.

After living in New York, they retired to Topsham and enjoyed traveling together, taking cruises to Alaska and tours of London and Paris.

She and her husband also enjoyed auto club tours in their restored 1940 Packard.

She loved cooking and when she was experimenting with a new dish, would ask her family, “keeper or non-keeper?”

She was predeceased by a brother, John Sym.

Surviving are her husband Bob of Topsham; three sons, Robbie of Brunswick, John and his wife Rebecca of Glen Cove, N.Y., and Christopher and his wife Lisa of Glen Cove N.Y.; three grandsons, Justin, Ryan and Evan; a sister, Joan Hilton of Topsham, and a brother, Thomas of Nashua, N.H.. 

A private service to celebrate her life will be held at a later date at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Brunswick.
