WEST BATH — John “Jack” W. Waterhouse Jr. 78, died May 19 at Mid-Coast Hospital with his family by his side.

He was born in Bath on May 3, 1934, to John W. and Susie Waterhouse Black. He grew up in Bath and graduated from Morse High School in 1953.

While he was in high school, Waterhouse served in the National Guard for two years and in 1954 he joined the U.S. Marine Corps and proudly served his country for 20 years. He was able to travel the world with the Marines and served in Beirut, The Bay of Pigs and three tours in Vietnam.

After he retired from the Marines, he was a house husband and owned his own business as repairman. He also worked for the Mayo & Son Funeral Home for many years. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, camping and hunting.

Waterhouse was a member of the Bath High School Alumni Association and was a past president of the group. He was on the committee that began the B&W Golf Tournament to raise money for scholarships for Bath students. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge in Bath and a Past Exalted Ruler. He was a communicant of the United Methodist Church in Bath.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Edna King Waterhouse; children, Melinda Theriault, Bradley Waterhouse and his wife, Diane, and Craig Waterhouse and his wife, Bronda; and grandchildren Daivd Theriault and his wife, Julie, John Theriault and his wife, Emily, Jennifer Waterhouse, Bradley Waterhouse Jr., Jake Waterhouse, Jessica Drain and her husband, Steven, Kristen White and Heather Waterhouse.

At his request there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Waterhouse’s name to the Bath High School Alumni Association, 852 High St., Bath, ME 04530.
