BATH — John R. Hybers Sr., 73, died Aug. 14 at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick.

Born in Portland, Oct. 24, 1937, he was the son of Charles Leroy and Ruth Louise Colby Hybers.

He attended Morse High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

As a truck driver he drove cross-country for 15 years before moving to New Hampshire where he drove a truck on construction sites.

In the late 1990s he returned to Bath and was a caretaker for his mother.

He enjoyed his daily trip to Southgate Restaurant to drink coffee and visit with friends.

His wife, Barbara Jean Hybers, predeceased him.

He is survived by two sons, John R. Hybers, Jr., of Saco, and Mark S. Hybers of Oklahoma City, Okla.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be private.

Arrangements are by Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal St., Brunswick.
