SOUTH PORTLAND – Joanne D. Coyne, 83, of Ridgeland Avenue, died Jan. 16 at Mercy Hospital. She was born in Portland on Feb. 6, 1932, a daughter of Joseph D. and Margaret M. (Ridge) Meehan. She attended Portland High School.

She married John C. “Jack” Coyne July 7, 1951, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Portland. Coyne worked as a CNA in hospitals and private practice. She enjoyed crocheting, playing bingo, shopping, cruising, traveling to see family and trips to Ireland and Hawaii. She was a member of the Red Hat Society.

She was predeceased by her husband, Jack; two sisters, Margaret Mary Brown and Lucia Agnes Linton; a brother, Joseph D. Coyne Jr.; and her longtime companion, Robert G. Hasson Sr.

She is survived by two daughters, Theresa A. Conohan and Margaret F. Wilkes, both of South Portland; two sons, John J. Coyne, of South Portland and Kevin J. Coyne, of South Portland; her twin sister, Ann Mosley, of Portland; a brother, Thomas “Toppy” Meehan, of Fresno, California; six grandchildren, Heather Seavey, John Coyne, Lauren Conohan, Shannon Bragdon, Bridget Card and Alex Bragdon; and four great-grandchildren, Quincy Seavey, Sydney Seavey, Dakoda Coyne, and Delaney Coyne.

Visiting hours were Jan. 19 at Conroy-Tully Crawford South Portland Chapel. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery, South Portland.
