YARMOUTH — Joan (Amendola) Wilber Goddard, 57, died March 9.

She was born July 13, 1954 in Boston, Mass., to Alfred A. and Mary P. Amendola. She graduated from Scituate High School in 1972 and earned an associates degree in business administration in 1974. She was the vice president of Goddard Insurance Agency and a member of the Board of Directors of Insurance Agents of Maine. She devoted much of her time to her community as a trustee of Merrill Memorial Library, president of the Yarmouth Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, co-director of the Yarmouth Clam Festival and director of the Yarmouth Little League.

Goddard was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. She loved sun, summer, boating on Casco Bay, good dancing music, tending to her flower gardens and window boxes and, above all else, spending precious time with family and friends.

She is survived by her beloved husband, William R. Goddard; daughter, Lindsay Wilber; sister, Janet Smith and her husband, Patrick, of Brockton, Mass.; brother Willie Amendola and his wife, Valerie, of Spring, Texas; and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, extended family and dear friends.

Memorial services were held on March 14 at the First Parish Congregational Church in Yarmouth.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Tufts Medical Center, c/o John K. Erban, MD, Clinical Director, 880 Washington St. #245, Boston, MA 02111 or to the Merrill Memorial Library, c/o Heidi Grimm, 215 Main St., Yarmouth, ME 04096.
