BRUNSWICK — Joan Snook Thurlow, 67, of Freeport, died Oct. 13 at Mid Coast Hospital with her family by her side.

Born on Feb. 5, 1942, in Trenton, N.J., she was the only child of Olive (Hagerman) and Donald Davis Snook.

She married Everett Thurlow on June 16, 1962, in Titusville, N.J.

In 1978 they moved to Freeport with their two sons. Over the years, she was active with the Freeport Fire Department Auxiliary, Freeport American Legion Auxiliary Unit 83, Freeport Elders Association and the Brunswick United Methodist Church.

Her interests included making crafts and visiting lighthouses across the country with her husband. She had an out-going personality and became friends with whomever she met.

She was predeceased by her great-granddaughter, Riley.

Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Everett Thurlow of Freeport; her two sons, Donald Thurlow and his wife Samantha of Bowdoinham and William Thurlow and his wife Cindy of Brunswick; four grandchildren, Aaron, Amanda, Jenn, Kari; two great-grandchildren, Jayden and Austin; many nieces and nephews; and cousins.

Memorial services were held last weekend.

Arrangements are by Lindquist Funeral Home, 1 Mayberry Lane, Yarmouth.
