BRUNSWICK — Joan L. Boucher, 91, died Oct. 25, with her husband by her side.

She was born in Topsham on Nov. 11, 1922, the daughter of Gideon J. and Josephine (Menard) Allard. She grew up in Topsham, and attended St. John’s School and Brunswick High School.

Boucher worked for many years in the family business, Allard’s Market. When her father became ill, she took over ownership and ran the store for 12 years, until closing in 1966. She then worked for Royal Cut Rate, in Brunswick.

On July 5, 1963, she married Dominic E. Boucher, and the couple resided in Brunswick.

She was an active communicant of All Saints Parish, St. John’s Church. Her family was most important to her, but in her spare time she enjoyed crossword puzzles and reading a good book.

She is predeceased by her first husband, John W. Golden; sisters, Victoria Genovese and Exilia Allard; and brothers, Albert, Roger, Benoit, Clement and Chanel.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that any memorial donations be made to St. John’s School, 39 Pleasant St., Brunswick, ME 04011.

A graveside service was held Oct. 30 at St. John’s Cemetery, Brunswick.
