TOPSHAM — Joan H. (Lacharite) Scott Mann, 76, died Feb. 27 at Freeport Nursing Home from lung cancer.

On Dec. 2, 1933, she was born in Augusta, the daughter of Aime J. and Grace M. Gagne Lacharite, and attended Brunswick schools.

A beloved mother and grandmother, she enjoyed knitting, sewing, reading and making puzzles. 

For years she worked in a factory and later as a certified nursing assistant.

She was predeceased by an infant son, Robert P. Scott.
 
Surviving are her ex-husband, Roscoe Scott, Jr. of Mt. Marion, N.Y.; and their three children, Rocky Scott of North Monmouth, Charlotte Scott Infante of Brunswick and Steve Scott of Brunswick; her ex-husband, Ken L. Mann; and their daughter Amy Mann Brooks of Bowdoin; three step-daughters, Cathy Bailey of Bath, Susan Baker of Brunswick, and Diane Despaine of Topsham; sister Pauline R. Bernier of Harpswell, brother A.A. “Chummy” Lacharite and his wife Jean of Bowdoin; five grandchildren, Jordan, Curtis and Chelsea Scott, all of Portland, Samantha Brooks, and Hunter Brooks of Bowdoin; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, March 4 at Westrum House.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 5 at St. John’s The Baptist Church, Pleasant St., Brunswick. 

Arrangements are by Stetson’s Funeral Home, 12 Federal, St., Brunswick.
