RICHMOND — Joachim F. Bois, 85, formerly of Brunswick and Topsham, died Dec. 5 at his home, surrounded by his family.

Born in Topsham on Dec. 22, 1925 he was a son of Joseph A. and Amerilda Lavoie Bois. For 39 years he worked as a line finisher and watchman at the Pejepscot Paper Mill. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy.

On Sept. 6, 1948 he married Lucille Dostie at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church in Augusta. He was a communicant of St. John the Baptist and St. Leo’s Catholic churches.

A self-educated man, he loved to read and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends at his summer home.

He is predeceased by two sisters Gracia Leclerc and Rolande Lachance and his brother Bertrand Bois.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Lucille; children Priscilla Trundell of Brunswick, Daniel Bois and his wife Beth of Fairfield, Therese Pinette of Wilton, and Antoine Bois of Topsham; 14 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Dec. 10 at All Saint’s Parish, St. John the Baptist Church, 39 Pleasant ST., Brunswick. Memorial contributions in Bois’ memory may be made to St. John’s Elementary School, 39 Pleasant St., Brunswick, 04011.
