FREEPORT — The Arthritis Foundation of Northern New England will be hosting a Jingle Bell Run on Sunday, Dec. 4.
The 5K, which people can run or walk, will take place at the Mast Landing School on Mollymauk Lane. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the race begins at 10.
The Jingle Bell Run, which started in 1984, happens in dozens of communities around the country. Participants are encouraged to wear holiday costumes and tie bells to their shoelaces.
The registration fee is $35 per team, but will be $40 the day of the race. Teams can register at jbr.org/freeport. Team members are expected to raise money to donate to the Arthritis Foundation. As of Nov. 21, Freeport runners had pledged just under $20,000.
