BRUNSWICK — Jeff L. Edmonds, 42, of Brunswick, died at home Oct. 13 of bile duct cancer.

Edmonds was born in Syracuse, N.Y., and grew up in Cortland, N.Y., and Barrington, N.H., where he attended Dover High School. He graduated with degrees in cinema and English from SUNY-Binghamton, after which he had a short stint as a reporter at Foster’s Daily Democrat. He then followed his heart and moved to Missoula, Mont., to live in the Rocky Mountains.

For the past four years, Edmonds and his family made their home in Brunswick. He worked as a print production specialist for L.L. Bean and spent every weekend possible taking his young family to explore the mountains and shorelines of Maine and New Hampshire.

Edmonds was a runner, and ran the Beach to Beacon 10K in August. He also was a drummer and movie buff. But what he loved most was being a father and husband. On breaks between chemo, he introduced his children to his cherished childhood home in central New York, Disney World, Colorado and New York City. They also visited Glacier, Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks.

Edmonds is survived by his wife of 13 years, Bridget; two children, Fiona and Oliver; mother, Sandy Edmonds and Susan Trimm; father, Bob Edmonds and Denise; brothers, Thom Edmonds and Indra, Tony Retrosi and Stephanie, and Chris Retrosi; mother-in-law, Theresa Grosser; brothers-in-law, Aaron Grosser and Beth, and Joel Grosser and Andrea; several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles; and numerous friends.

A memorial service was held Oct. 18 at St. Charles Borromeo Church, Brunswick, with Katy Denning as the celebrant. Arrangements were by Stetson’s Funeral Home, Brunswick.
