BATH — Jeanette F. Oliver, 89, died peacefully March 29 at the Hill House, where she had spent the past five years. 

She was born in 1920, the only daughter of Harold and Mildred Plant Dowling, and grew up in Bath.

After she graduated from Morse High School in 1939, she worked for J.J. Newbury in Bath for two years. 

In 1941 she married Edwin F. Oliver and they lived in Bath until his death in 1974.

For 42 years she worked for Ma Bell, American Telephone & Telegraph, until retiring in 1982.

She was an active member of St. Mary’s Church in Bath, serving as a Eucharistic minister in the church and at nursing homes.
 
An avid gardener, she loved her flowers and won several awards from the Bath Garden Club.

She was also a seamstress who made many beautiful dresses for her daughter and granddaughter. 

She was predeceased by her loving husband of 33 years, Edwin.

Surviving are her daughter, Ellen Oliver Day Beals of Manchester, and her granddaughter Tammy Day of Farmingdale.

Memorial services were held earlier this week.

Arrangements are by  David E. Desmond Funeral Home, 638 High St.t, Bath.
