BRUNSWICK — Jean Farjeon Davis, 99, died Aug. 2 at the Skolfield House.

She was born in East Orange, N.J., on Sept. 7, 1909, a daughter of Harry and Grace (Thorn) Farjeon.

She lived in Ossining, N.Y., and Paris. She and her late husband, John E. Davis, were both ardent bird-watchers. After his death in 1977, she traveled throughout the Middle East, and spent winters in Manzanillo, Mexico.

An avid Scrabble player, friends and family will remember her as a “seven-letter word on a triple-word square.”

She had a long and wonderful life.

She is survived by her son, J. Jefferson Davis and his wife Beth of Amherst, N.H., and her daughter, Jean Weatherbee and her husband Donald of Brunswick; her sister, Grace Farjeon of Topsham; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services will be private.

Arrangements are by Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal St., Brunswick.
