YARMOUTH — Jane (McCue) Flint, 90, died in her Yarmouth home on Dec. 23. She was born on July 19, 1922, in Portland, and was the second of three daughters born to Helen McLaughlin McCue and Jack Bernard McCue.

Flint graduated from high school and secretarial school in Portland and was employed as a secretary for many years in the insurance, legal, and educational fields. Most recently, she served for over 30 years as the secretary in the guidance office for Yarmouth High School where she helped hundreds of students achieve their career and educational goals.

She was an avid and exceptional gardener and had a supply of both flowers and vegetables every summer. She was also an excellent cook, and her chicken pies, pumpkin bread, and Christmas cookies were particular favorites.

She was especially devoted to her two grandsons, Mick and Louie DiStasio, and followed their academic and athletic careers throughout grade school, high school, and college. Armed with an ample zip bag of snacks and water, she seldom missed a baseball, soccer, football, or basketball game, regardless of the weather. Their many accomplishments were a constant source of pride and delight for her.

She was also a constant source of love, support, and guidance to her two daughters, Susan and Maureen, and her son, David, as well as to their significant others, Bill, Rick, and Becky. She had a way of making a big impact on the lives of others in a quiet, patient, and generous way.

Flint was predeceased by her husband, Edward Flint; her two sisters, Mary McCue and Helen Gillis; and her nephew, Mark Gillis.
