BATH — James Owen Brewster, 66, of Bath, died unexpectedly at his home on Aug. 30.

He was born Dec. 17, 1948, the son of James Kenneth and Elizabeth (Dauphin) Brewster. He graduated from Morse High School in Bath, in the Class of 1968. Brewster was a star athlete, excelling in baseball and basketball. In his leisure time, he enjoyed picnicking with his cousins at Popham and Crescent beaches.

After graduating from college, Jim dedicated himself to his work at Bath Iron Works, where he as an outside machinist for 35 years. He enjoyed many recreational activities, including boating, cooking, fishing and hunting.

Brewster was predeceased by his parents.

He is survived by an aunt, Cynthia M. Dauphin, of Bath, and eight cousins.

A celebration of Brewster’s life will be held at the Elks Club, 9 Lambard St., Bath, on Sunday, Sept. 21, at 2 p.m. Photos and stories about him will be welcomed at the celebration.
