PORTLAND — James Augustus Cassidy III, 60, of Yarmouth, died Aug. 1 from cancer.

Born in Portland, on June 4, 1951, a son of James W. and Helen (Latini) Cassidy, he graduated from Portland High School in 1969.

After serving as a U.S. Marine Corps Reservist, he was a co-owner of J.W. Cassidy and Sons, an electrical contracting company in Portland.  

He enjoyed baseball, was a first degree black belt in Shotokan karate and an avid runner.  

In his free time he loved spending time with family and friends, working out, listening to AC/DC and driving his 1971 Boss 351 Mustang.

He was predeceased by his father.

Surviving are his wife Denise Soule Cassidy of Yarmouth; his daughter Angela Cassidy of Boston; a brother, Gary Cassidy, and his wife Deborah of Standish, and two sisters, Donna Hanley of Ithaca, N.Y., and Theresa Burgess of Naples; and his mother, Helen F. Cassidy of Portland.
 
A graveside service was held last week.
