BRUNSWICK — J. Louise Whittier, 92, died Jan. 27, at Hawthorne House, Freeport.
She was born in Boston, Mass., Nov. 17, 1921, the daughter of Charles E. and Florence Phillips. She graduated from Milton High School in Massachusetts and lived there until marrying Nathaniel T. Whittier Sr.
They moved from Massachusetts to Maine to North Carolina and Pennsylvania during his career and she returned to Massachusetts in 1972 to care for her mother. She later moved to Portland in 1985, Kennebunk and later to the Topsham-Brunswick area.
She was predeceased by a son, Gregory P. Whittier in July 2012.
She is survived by a son, Nick Whittier and wife Beverley; several cousins, including Marjorie Leake and Robert D’Entremont; two granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren.
At her request, services will be private.
Arrangements are in the care of Brackett Funeral Home, Brunswick.
