After a winter season of so much triumph and drama, it’s no surprise that an abundance of standout athletes from the Mid-Coast found their way on to postseason all-star lists.

Here’s a glimpse:

Boys’ basketball

The Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A boys’ basketball first-team featured Brunswick’s Blake Gordon and Mt. Ararat’s Shyeim Ulrickson.

The second-team included Brunswick’s Derek Devereux.

The KVAC Class B first-team featured Morse’s Ethan Winglass.

Brunswick’s Gordon and Ryan Black, Morse’s Chris Paulus and Mt. Ararat’s Jordan Castonguay and Jake Demonsthenes qualified for the All-Academic team.

Hyde;s Warsame Mohamed played for the Western C/D team in the Maine McDonald’s Senior All-Star Game.

Girls’ basketball

On the girls’ side, the KVAC Class A first-team included Brunswick’s Julia Champagne.

Brunswick’s Lyse Henshaw and Mt. Ararat’s Caitlin LaFountain was a second-teamer.

Brunswick’s Henshaw, Morse’s Kaitlyn Dube and Mt. Ararat’s LaFountain qualified for the All-Academic team.

Mt. Ararat’s LaFountain was named to the Eastern A/B girls’ team for the Maine McDonald’s Senior All-Star Game.

Boys’ hockey

Brunswick forward Matt Brooks, defenseman Cam Heatley and goalie Blake Alexander were named to the All-East All-State boys’ hockey first-team.

Brunswick forward Ryan Maciejewski was a second-teamer.

Brunswick’s Alexander, Heatley, Maciejewski and Jacob Parent and Mt. Ararat/Lisbon’s Bru Abreu represented Eastern A in the Senior All-Star Game.

Heatley was a Travis Roy Award nominee.

Girls’ hockey

On the girls’ side, Brunswick goalie Claire Mendes and defender Grace Rabinowitz and Mt. Ararat forwards Devon Hutchins and Carly Raymond and defender Nellie Hetherington were named to the KVAC second-team.

Brunswick’s Mendes and Mt. Ararat’s Hutchins were East Region first-team selections.

Mt. Ararat’s Hetherington and Kayla Richardson made the second-team.

Honorable mentions included Brunswick’s Rabinowitz and Mt. Ararat’s Raymond and Alison Nolan.

Indoor track

The KVAC boys’ indoor track all-conference team included Brunswick’s Jason Higginbotham, Philip LeBlanc, Walter Martin, Zach Miller, John Murphy and Christopher Tanner and Mt. Ararat’s Ellison Etnier, Andrew McCracken, Justin Pierce, Hiro Soya, Deshaun Ulrickson and Ty Veno.

Brunswick’s Martin and Miller and Mt. Ararat’s Etnier, Shea Nelson and Nick Rogers qualified for the KVAC All-Academic team.

On the girls’ side, all-conference selections included Brunswick’s Sarah Judd, Lily Sanders, Ruth Van Kampen, Tessa Cassidy, Haley Murano, Julianna Rattey, Natalie Grant, Anna Turner, Teresa Murphy, Tiffany Tanner, Anna Cowan, Michele Richards and Emily Cowan.

Brunswick’s Anna Cowan, Grant, Amy Lyons, Murphy, Richards, Brooke Trimmer and Turner and Mt. Ararat’s Emmie Cox, Katie Frizzie and Nicole Ross qualified for the All-Academic team.

Brunswick’s David Delois was named KVAC girls’ Coach of the Year.

Brunswick’s Tiffany Tanner was an all-state honorable mention.

Swimming

The KVAC boys’ swimming all-conference team included Brunswick’s Cody Buchheit, Edward Capoldo, Jacob Cost, Ben Farrell, Henry Raker, Ezra Rogers, Kadin Woolever, Rene Yost and Nate Samson and Mt. Ararat’s Noah Brillant and Ben Wade.

Brunswick’s Woolever and Quang Durst qualified for the KVAC All-Academic team.

Brunswick’s Samson was named Male Swimmer of the KVAC Meet.

Brunswick’s Dave Bright was named KVAC Class A boys’ Coach of the Year.

In Class B, Morse’s Patrick McKenna, Wesley McKenna, Kyle Bauer, Max Gurney, Drew Ceglinski, Tucker Banger and Otto Werwaiss made the all-conference team.

Morse’s Kyle Hummel and Joshua Valentine qualified for the All-Academic team.

Morse’s Todd Marco was named KVAC Class B boys’ Coach of the Year.

Brunswick’s Cost and Samson were also named to the all-state team.

On the girls’ side, the Class A all-conference team included Brunswick’s Anna Kinnee, Quinn Alexander, Caroline Rivard, Hannah Escoe, Lynsie Russell, Caitlin Tycz, Emma Blair and Madeline Cowan.

Brunswick’s Cowan qualified for the KVAC All-Academic team.

The Class B all-conference team featured Morse’s Brittany Kaler, Lexi Stevenson, Sophie Sreden, Madison Burch, Ann Tolan, Bronwyn Morissette and Allison Plummer.

Morse’s Morgan Cram qualified for the All-Academic team.

Brunswick’s Cowan and Tycz and Morse’s Tolan made the all-state team.

Wrestling

The KVAC wrestling second-team included Brunswick’s Christian Jensen (106 pounds) and Mt. Ararat’s Robert Hetherman (152) and Brandon Jusseaume (182).

Cheering

Brunswick’s Amanda Boyd and Sarah Basquez and Mt. Ararat’s Jaclyn Brown and Saree Boutin made the KVAC Class A cheering first-team.

Morse’s Nichole Laggan and Savannah Simmons-Grover were Class B first-teamers.

Brunswick’s Basquez, Morse’s Allison Bailey, Miranda Doak, Laggan and Simmons-Grover and Mt. Ararat’s Boutin qualified for the All-Academic team.
