DRESDEN — Irving Brookings Wright Jr., 84, died Jan. 7 after a brief illness.
He was born in Bath on Aug. 2, 1928, the son of Irving B. Wright and Lura Pearl Davis. He attended Bath schools and worked at the Wing Farm until joining the U.S. Marine Corps. He served in Korea, receiving two Purple Hearts and the Silver Star.
Wright was employed at Bath Iron Works for 14 years and at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for seven years. He also worked at Bath Junior High School and the Customs House before retiring from Bath Children’s Home in 1992.
Wright enjoyed spending time at his camp with his family and friends.
He was predeceased by his wife of 40 years, Beverly Yeaton Wright, in 1995.
He is survived by his children Vanessa Reynolds, Vance Wright and his wife, Tashar, Kimberly Brassard, Todd Wright and Mark Wright; seven grandchildren; a great-grandson; a sister; a brother; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Wright’s life will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery in Bath in the spring.
