CAPE ELIZABETH — Residents are invited to a meeting with the School Board and search consultant Jackie Roy on Wednesday, Dec. 15, at Town Hall.

Roy, of J.A. Roy Associates in Dennisport, Mass., is assisting in the search for a replacement for Superintendent Alan Hawkins, who will retire at the end of the month. She was hired by the School Board on Nov. 30.

Roy and the board will ask participants about school strengths, challenges and other issues that will help determine the long-term needs of the schools and how the board will describe its next superintendent.

Ken Murphy, former longtime superintendent in Yarmouth, will serve as interim superintendent from Jan. 1, 2011, to the end of the school year.
