PORTLAND — A Brunswick man was placed on suicide watch Wednesday after an official said he made a failed attempt to take his own life at the Cumberland County Jail.
Jason Bishop, 38, was found in his cell with a bed sheet around his neck around 9:25 a.m., Maj. John Costello of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release Wednesday.
Bishop was discovered by a corrections officer and a member of the jail’s medical staff. He did not have major injuries, Costello said.
