BRUNSWICK — Mid Coast Health Services will open a walk-in primary-care clinic on Station Avenue.

Lois Skillings, president and CEO of Mid Coast Health Services, said “the new downtown location is well situated for the region’s first non-emergency walk-in clinic.”

The clinic will serve adults and children with minor medical problems who are unable to see their doctors, or do not have one. Treatment costs are lower at the walk-in than at an emergency room, according to Dr. Scott Mills, Mid Coast’s vice president of medical staff administration and chief medical officer.

The clinic, which will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. during the week and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekends, is also the new location of Mid Coast’s primary-care adult practice, formerly based at Mid Coast Hospital.

Both services will open Monday, Aug. 8. They are expected to serve 10,000 people in the first year.
