FREEPORT – The Freeport Historical Society will hold a summer long exhibit exploring the History of Play for children and adults.

The exhibit will include toys, games and items from local attractions such as Casco Castle and the Desert of Maine, baseball uniforms signed photos and items of Ted Williams and Babe Ruth. Footage from early home movies will reveal recreational activities of the 1930s and 1940s in Freeport including picnics, swimming, skating, and the arrival of the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus unloading from the train.

The exhibit will be on display at the Harrington House, 45 Main Street, Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Saturdays, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. through September 25.
