FREEPORT — Baseball fans and history buffs are invited to watch and play a vintage ball game between the Maine Dirigo team and the Massachusetts Essex team on Sunday, June 26 at 1 p.m.

The game will take place at the old-fashioned farmer’s field at Pettengill Farm, following rules from 1860. Participants are encouraged to bring a blanket or folding chair to watch the game, but will then be invited to play.

The Maine Squeeze Accordion Band will play before and after the game and there will be beer, kettle corn, hot dogs and Ben & Jerry’s ice cream available. Adult tickets are $5; Freeport Historical Society members and children are free.
