BRUNSWICK — Henry “Pete” Caouette” 86, died Dec. 2 at Amenity Manor after a brief illness.

He was born Feb 21, 1923, a son of Eva and Damasse Cauette, and attended Brunswick schools.

Though he never married, he dedicated his life to taking care of others, especially his mother.

He worked for years as a security guard for Varney Mill and later on, he worked for 20 years at Health Text until his retirement.

For over 65 years, he was an active member of Knights of Columbus and attained the fourth degree Knight. He enjoyed organizing the annual Christmas party for children and would donate his own money to ensure all had gifts.

He was a devout, lifelong member of St. John’s Church.

His love and generosity was surpassed only by his quick wit and infectious smile.

He was predeceased by three brothers, Renee, Joseph, Edward and a sister, Yvette.

Survivors include his sister-in-law, Jeanne Caouette; several nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Memorial services were held earlier this week.

Arrangements are by Demers-Desmond Funeral Home, 34 Cushing St., Brunswick.
