SACO — Helen W. Freise, 102, formerly of Scarborough, died Aug. 14 at her residence.
She was born in Boston, Mass., a daughter of James Henry and Nellie Payson Fales Watts and was educated in local schools, and graduated from Bryant and Stratton Business School in Boston.
For more than 20 years she worked as a secretary for Saco Lowell Textiles.
She was a longtime member of the First Congregational Church in South Portland and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She was predeceased by her first husband, George E. Martin, second husband, Erik O. Pierson, and most recent husband, Frederick E. Freise, and three brothers, Richard Watts, William Watts and Michael Watts.
Surviving is her son, Maurice Marceau of Venice, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Jo Anne Albright of Billerica, Mass., two stepsons, Erik Pierson of Pine Bush, N.Y., and David Pierson of Tustin, Calif.; 11 grandchildren, Pamela Marceau Moriarty, Vicki Marceau Letarte, Charlotte Howard, Robert Albright, Claire Albright Hoose, Kristen Illes, Erik Pierson, Kurt Pierson, Brenda Pierson Dorman, Susana Miles, David Pierson; 22 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a cousin, Ruth Souza; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
A memorial service was held earlier this week.
Arrangements are by Hobbs Funeral Home, Scarborough.
