SCARBOROUGH – Heidi Hannelore Kolterman, 67, formerly of Falmouth Foreside, died Aug. 9 at her Scarborough home with her son Neal at her side.

She was born on July 8, 1942, in Ludwigsburg, West Germany, the daughter of Anneliese Mayer and Kurt Knecht.

Her early education began at a religious boarding school in Lindau, Bodensee, and she later studied fashion and design. While growing up, she worked in the family clothing business and occasionally modeled, which resulted in a a life-long appreciation for European fashion and design.

She loved making her home on Foreside Road in Falmouth a beautiful place. Although Maine became her home, her heart always remained in Germany.

Her interests included cooking, baking, working in her flower gardens, interior decorating, antiques and traveling the world.
