HARPSWELL — Voters on Tuesday approved transferring $30,000 in unassigned funds to the town’s reserve account to cover potential legal fees after a long dispute over the Mitchell Field water tower this year drained the town’s legal fund.

According to unofficial results, 1,871 people voted to transfer the money, while 1,291 voted against it.

They also overwhelmingly approved transferring $25,000 from the unassigned fund balance to make improvements to the Pott’s Point boat launch and town parking area. The vote was 2,352 to 901.
