Kevin O’Connor, 35, of Bailey Island, received serious but non-life threatening injuries Tuesday, Feb. 13, when his car left Harpswell Islands Road and crashed into an unoccupied home, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office. The crash occurred near midnight, but O’Connor was not discovered until 10 hours later, by a passerby. He was rescued by sheriff’s deputies and the Orr’s and Bailey Island Fire & EMS. An initial investigation indicated speed and failing to maintain control of the car were factors in the crash, which was under investigation by the sheriff’s office. O’Connor remained at Maine Medical Center in Portland Wednesday, recovering from broken bones and a head injury. (Courtesy CCSO)
