HARPSWELL — The Harpswell Heritage Land Trust will officially open a 1.25-mile trail system at the Curtis Farm Preserve on Saturday, June 6.

Curtis Farm is owned and operated by the land trust, and is the largest undeveloped property in South Harpswell. It includes nearly 2,000 feet of shoreline on Curtis and Basin coves.

The new trails were constructed by more than 50 volunteers, according to a press release. The trail system passes through a variety of habitats and offers water views.

The event will take place between 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., starting at the parking lot off Route 123. It is free and open to the public, and will feature a variety of talks and guided walks, as well as locally made baked goods.
