HARPSWELL — The new Community Gardens at Mitchell Field are opening to the public. The town is accepting applications from residents interested in renting plots.
Gardeners can rent 100- or 150-square-foot plots for $25 or $35, respectively, or construct their own raised beds. The rental fee includes deer fencing, water, compost, use of communal tools, and gardening advice. No pesticides or herbicides are allowed.
Applications are at Town Hall.
